How it works

Three steps, and two of them are ours.

Most web work starts with a meeting about a website that does not exist yet. Ours starts with the website.

  1. Step 01

    We build it

We look at what your business does and what people call to ask about, then build the whole site. Real pages, real words, real photos where we have them. Nothing to fill out, nothing to approve along the way.

    You are not involved yet.
  2. Step 02

    You see the real site

Not a mockup, not a slide deck. A link you open on your phone. Tap the number and it dials. Look at it in the truck, show it to your wife, send it to your partner. It is finished.

This is the whole sales pitch.
  3. Step 03

You buy it or you don't

If you want it, we point it at your domain and hand it over. If you don't, that is the end of it — no follow-up calls, no invoice, no hard feelings. You never paid a deposit and never sat through a meeting.

Either answer is a fine answer.

The risk is ours, on purpose. We do the work before anybody owes anybody anything, because looking at a finished site beats being told about one.

What's in a build

What you're actually looking at.

Every build is a working website, not a template with your name dropped in. Here is what that includes.

One page or several

Some businesses need one page that says what they do and how to reach them. Others need pages for services, gallery, hours and location. We build whichever fits.

Built for a phone first

Most people who look you up are standing in a parking lot holding a phone. The site is laid out for that screen first, then widened for a desktop.

Click-to-call, everywhere

Your number is a button on every screen. One tap dials it, and the address taps through to directions. Nobody copies anything down.

Photos, handled

We work with the photos you already have, cropped and sized so they load fast and look right on a small screen. If there aren't any good ones, we say so instead of filling the page with stock.

Hosting and the domain

We keep the site online and pointed at your domain, with a secure connection. If you don't have a domain yet, we'll walk you through getting the one you want.

Changes when you need them

New hours, a new service, a price that moved, a photo from last weekend. You send it over and we change it. No ticket system, no portal to log into.

We don't promise you traffic, rankings or a number of phone calls. We build the site. What it's worth to your business is yours to judge, with the finished thing in front of you.

Design concepts

What a Preview Sites build looks like.

These are design concepts, not jobs we have done. Three examples of the kind of site we would build for a trade business, shown the way you would actually see one — on a laptop and on a phone at the same time. Yours would be about your business, with your work in the photos and your words on the page.

Before and after

A social page is a place to post. It isn't a place to be found.

Plenty of good local businesses run entirely off a Facebook page and a phone number. It works until someone searches for you and finds a cover photo from four years ago. Below is the difference, drawn as a generic illustration.

Before Social page only
  • Hours live in a comment on an old post.
  • The phone number is in the bio, not on the screen.
  • Nothing to send a customer except "look us up."
  • You don't own it and you can't change how it looks.
After Your own site
  • +Hours, services and location on the first screen.
  • +A call button that follows people down the page.
  • +One address you can put on a truck door or a card.
  • +Yours, at your own domain, changed whenever you say.

Pricing

Every build is quoted for the business it's for.

There is no price list on this page, because there isn't one. A single page for a one-man operation and a multi-page site for a shop with a crew are different jobs. We would rather quote yours properly than publish a number that's wrong for most people. Ask, and you get a straight answer.

Nothing to pay to look

The site is built and in front of you before money comes up at all. There is no deposit and nothing to sign to get that far.

Priced to the job

What a build costs depends on how many pages it needs and how much there is to put on them. We look at your business and price that, not a category it falls into.

Just ask

Call or email and tell us what your business is and where it is. You'll get a figure for the work, and you can sit on it as long as you like.

Questions

The things people ask first.

Building a site before anyone asks for it raises a few fair questions. Here are the honest answers.

You built this before I asked. What's the catch?

There isn't one, and nothing is attached to it. We build on spec because showing you a finished site works better than describing one. If you're not interested, say so and we take it down.

What if I don't like it?

Then you don't buy it. That is the point of building it first — you are looking at the real thing instead of a promise, so you can say no with something in front of you. You haven't paid anything at that stage.

Do I own the site?

Your business name, your words and your photos are yours from the start. Exactly how the rest is handed over is part of the conversation when we quote — ask before you buy anything and we'll lay it out plainly.

What about my domain?

If you already have one, we point the site at it. If you don't, we'll help you get the one you want. Who registers it and whose name it sits in is worth settling up front, and we'll go through that with you.

I already have a Facebook page. Why do I need this?

A social page is a good place to post. It's a poor place to be found — the layout, what shows up and whether it's still there next year are somebody else's call. A site gives people one address, your hours and services on the first screen, and a number they can tap. Plenty of businesses keep both.

How long does it take?

It depends on the size of the site and how fast we can get what we need from you, which is usually photos. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we talk rather than a number off a web page.

What if I need something changed later?

You send it over and we change it — new hours, a new service, a photo from last weekend. How changes and hosting are handled after the build is something we set out when we quote, so there's nothing to be surprised by later.

What does it cost?

That depends on the build, so we quote it rather than list it. You'll know the number before you owe anything, and you'll have seen the site first.

Something not answered here? Ask us directly — we'd rather tell you than have you guess.

Want to see yours?

Tell us the name of your business and where it is. If it's a fit, we'll build the site and send you the link. If it isn't, we'll tell you that instead of stringing you along.
